In this course, students will explore the subject of plants. Ideally, they will be responsible for taking care of household plants and/or a family garden. They will learn about the classification of plants - taxonomy. They will report on the creation of plants as revealed in the book of Genesis. They will use resources in their family library, public library or the internet. If you are wanting to expand your family library, Answers in Genesis is a great source. http://answersingenesis.org

Students may earn up to 1 credit of Botany Lab. 1 credit = 150 clock hours, .75 credit = 112 hours; .5 credit = 75 hours and .25 credit = 40 hours. To receive 1 credit in one school year, the student will need to work about 5 hours a week.

1/3 of the hours need to be "hands-on" / lab time.

I have assigned a trip to a farm (if possible) for week 33 or for week 35. If you can schedule these or other weeks, then we can arrange for you to swap assignments.

Students will need either a plant identifying book or the use of a website for identifying plants.
