In this course, students will explore the subject of environmental science. Students should have the ability to explore different ecosystems during family field trips. They will use resources in their family library, public library or the internet. Content included in this course will add to your own resources. If you are wanting to expand your family library, Answers in Genesis is a great source. http://answersingenesis.org They also have articles on their website. P. These resources should include creation of the earth and an understanding of the scientific method.
Students may earn up to 1 credit of Geology Lab. 1 credit = 150 clock hours, .75 credit = 112 hours; .5 credit = 75 hours and .25 credit = 40 hours. To receive 1 credit in one school year, the student will need to work about 5 hours a week.
1/3 of the hours need to be "hands-on" / lab time. For every two weeks you spend researching in your resources, you should be doing one week of hands-on activities or field trips.
