Welcome to Intro to Screenwriting, a 16-week course designed to turn your story ideas into a polished screenplay! In partnership with Filmmaker's Edge, this course offers aspiring screenwriters the skills, techniques, and support needed to develop a completed short or feature-length script.

Through engaging video lessons, practical exercises, student workshops and expert guidance, students will dive deep into essential screenwriting topics, some examples are:

• Story Concept & Structure: Develop a strong foundation by understanding story structure, from the three-act model to the Hero’s Journey.

• Character Development & Arc: Craft characters with dynamic arcs that will captivate audiences.

• Dialogue & Visual Storytelling: Master the art of writing authentic dialogue and using visual elements to "show, don’t tell."

• Climax, Conflict & Emotional Engagement: Bring intensity and emotion to your story, learning techniques to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

• Revisions & Distribution: Polish your script to perfection and explore strategies for sharing your work, from festivals to industry platforms.

With each week building on the last, students will be guided step-by-step toward creating a complete, compelling screenplay, equipped with a clear theme, purpose, and voice. By the end of the course, you'll be prepared to submit your work and start your journey into the world of professional screenwriting.
