Japanese is the principal language of the Japonic language family spoken by the Japanese people. It has around 123 million speakers, primarily in Japan, the only country where it is the national language, and within the Japanese diaspora worldwide.
The Japanese writing system combines Chinese characters, known as kanji, with two unique syllabaries derived by the Japanese from the more complex Chinese characters: hiragana, 'simple characters' and katakana, 'partial characters'. Latin script is also used in a limited fashion (such as for imported acronyms) in Japanese writing. The numeral system uses mostly Arabic numerals, but also traditional Chinese numerals.
This course includes 30 minutes per week with a live instructor and video recording so you can go back over the vocabulary and assignments. Everything is done via Zoom or online. Additional materials are at the discretion of the teacher, and you will be notified after your non-refundable deposit for the course is received.
Parents will fill out a financial contract for the remainder of months through the year and pay the balance of the course directly to the teacher of record after the initial $125.00 nonrefundable deposit is paid to cover the first month. The average is $105.00 per month depending on the number of weeks in a month.
